Is Homosexual marriage supported by the Word of God?
Although the issue of homosexual marriage is more comprehensively dealt from the main page (at www.peacebyjesus.com), due to recent events the following summation is provided separately as a single sheet page hand out.
1. All sexual intercourse before or outside of marriage is sin (fornication and adultery), and God has provided the provision of marriage only for heterosexuals. This is clearly and abundantly manifest in the Scriptures from Genesis 2:24 onward (with wife always meaning a female).
2. In stark contrast however, God has never provided marriage for homosexuals anywhere in His Word, something He would have done if it was as good and wholesome as homosexuals promote it to be (despite much evidence to the contrary*). Neither would men lying with men be universally prohibited as it is with many other sins (Lv. 18:22; 20:13; Rm. 1:26).
3. The complete absence in the Bible of the provision of marriage for homosexuals leaves all homosexual relations sinful, with all practicing homosexuals being perverse fornicators. And no fornicator has eternal life (1Cor. 6:9, 10; Rev. 21:8).
4. This conspicuous absence of God-sanctioned homosexual marriage cannot be explained by such things as cultural sensitivities (which God is not reluctant to offend, if needed), or anything else, except that homosexual relations are contrary to God's will, and are a perverse distortion of His natural created order (see site above for refutation of pro homosexual arguments).
5. The lack of the marriage provision in the Bible, along with clear prohibitions against men lying with men as with women, excludes both homosexual marriage and homosexual relations. In contrast, the God - ordained provision of marriage for heterosexuals promotes their sexual relations within the context of marriage (Heb. 13:17).
6. Neither is sexual intimacy between anyone outside of marriage sanctified. However, an entire book is dedicated to celebrating love and sexual intimacy between a married man and his female wife - The Song of Solomon. God has made men and women uniquely sexually compatible (as well as in other ways), and sanctified such in marriage, while the attempt by those of like gender to mimic the same compatibility is anatomically perverse.
7. The Bride of Christ (the real church of born again believers) is spiritually represented as a women (Rv. 19) - as a bride always is in Scripture - but to be included as part of that Heavenly company one must repent in heart (including from practicing homosexuality) and turn to the Lord Jesus and truly receive Him. Only then can you have a life - giving relationship with God through His Holy Spirit, and want to live holy for Him. Praise ye the Lord!
