A THEOLOGICAL EVANGELICAL POEM

From Creation to Consummation;

The Creator and the Creatures,

the Saviour and the Sinners,

and the Everlasting Extremes

Man was created to the glory of God, but what glorifies God, who needs nothing? This theological poem imperfectly tries to answer that.

GOD made man in His image and likeness,

So that he could know the love of the Highest.

A spirit, soul, and body gave He,

That man might show forth GOD's Glory.

But he that can love must be able to choose,

GOD's word to keep, or His fellowship to lose.

The Serpent, so subtle, came up to Adam's Eve,

casting doubt, speaking lies, he worked to deceive.

She believed him, yielded to sin, and gave Adam to eat:

Their eyes were then opened, and they fell in defeat.

GOD called for Adam, as he hid in the Garden;

sin finds you out, and we all must seek pardon.

Cherubims of GOD kept man out, from the tree of life they must be;

Till One greater than angels would come down, to die on a Tree.

JESUS CHRIST was His Name, the SON of GOD from above:

Mighty in deed, righteous in heart, and perfect in love.

Casting out demons, and healing the sick, full of GOD's SPIRIT & power;

Yet only the humble and contrite could know Him, and this was their hour.

Speaking the Truth by the SPIRIT, JESUS said He must do more;

For it is sin which damns souls, that must be atoned for.

Mt.16:21; Lk.12:50

"Without shedding of blood, there is no remission;"

To save fallen man, from his sinful condition.

GOD's prophets of old showed how the Messiah would come;

To die on the cross and rise, our redemption be done!

So CHRIST faced the cross, and all that it meant;

To become sin for us, to spend and be spent.

Having done all, He gave up the ghost,

and now reigns in Glory – but the Devil will roast!

Now if GOD did all this, both for you and for me,

you must needs repent, if Heaven you'll see.

He alone knows all your heart, for His eyesight is pure;

To die in your sins means damnation for sure.

The time then is now, while God's SPIRIT still draws;

Believe CHRIST to save you, for you've broken GOD's laws.

You can't save yourself by your works and your deeds;

It's CHRIST blood that saves us, and thus did He bleed.

So give Him your sins, your life and your will,

And receive Him in heart, for His SPIRIT to fill.

If you'll believe God's truth, a new creation you'll be;

Be buried & risen with Christ in baptism, and walk in victory!

You can go on your way rejoicing, that CHRIST by His blood doth save;

Following the Son of GOD, Whom the Father sacrificially gave.

Now if you have this free gift, you'll want to be serving Him,

be thankful in prayer, love GOD's Word, and the brethren.

Spend much time alone with the LORD, your strength to renew,

As you seek first His kingdom, and righteousness also.

Seek the lost, who from CHRIST are apart,

Aim at the conscience, and sow faith in the heart.

That others be saved and grow in grace, we will strive:

As we walk in the SPIRIT, and in CHRIST we abide.

Pray to the GOD of Heaven, to stretch forth His hand to heal;

That we may speak with boldness, that JESUS is for real!

Study to show thyself approved of GOD, praying for words of wisdom;

Sanctifying the Lord in your heart, as dear children in His kingdom.

GOD looks for perfect hearts, for whom he may show Himself strong,

Who by their faith and their love, show that to CHRIST they belong

(But don't hold back from GOD, that which you promise to give;

for lying leads to dying, but by surrender in faith to GOD, we fully live)!

And so you'll find both now and forever, that Faithful & True is He,

To those that do trust Him – may that include thee!

Thus in temptation and in trial, put your faith in His Word;

And if chastened, be not discouraged, for every son must be scourged.

Only trust in the LORD, to do as He pleases;

For He works in you now, as your looking to JESUS!

He's been there before you, in both mountain & valley;

The victory is ours, for our GOD is Almighty.

Perhaps what He does now, like the LORD said to Peter, "thou knowest not,"

But to make us His bride, without blemish or spot.

So laying aside every weight, and any sin that besets us,

Let us run now with patience, the race of righteousness.

All who've gone before us in CHRIST, are now up above,

Examples of those who abide in the Savior’s great love.

And look unto our Captain, the LORD JESUS CHRIST,

Who for the Joy set before Him, made the Great Sacrifice.

And now seated with the Father in Eternal Victory,

He'll say to His faithful "Well done," and His Glory we shall see.

In God's Presence, there is fulness of joy and pleasures forever more;

But for those who reject Him, only Everlasting Punishment, so sore!

On the Great Day of GOD's Judgment, when every motive and deed is exposed by CHRIST's pure eyes,

You'll see how you choose to pacify your conscience, with the devils practiced lies!

And as the saints in Glory rejoice, in GOD's heavenly embrace,

you'll mourn & weep in torment, for spurning your Day of Grace!

So to all who read this, who are yet separated from CHRIST thru sin,

We plead, "FORSAKE THE FOOLISH AND LIVE," BY TRULY RECEIVING HIM!

"For without are "dogs" [morally unclean], and sorcerers [occultists and  recreational drug users] and whoremongers [those who engage in premarital or extramarital sex], and idolaters [those who set their chief affection upon, and or find their chief security in any created thing rather than the Living and True GOD, and which everyone has been guilty of. Idolatry includes trusting in ones own merit and or that of a church, etc. for salvation, rather than directly in the sinless Son of GOD, the Lord Jesus], and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie" [includes all forms of deceit] (Rv.22:17,15).
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Rm. 3:23).
“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God” (Ps. 9:17).
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19).
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit” (1Pet. 3:18).
“To Him [the LORD JESUS Christ] give all the prophets witness, that whosoever
believeth in Him, shall receive remission of sins” (Acts 10:43).
To GOD be the glory, Who alone shall be exalted (cf. Is. 2:17).
